Summer is coming, you feel it in six year old bones sheltered beneath skin paled by flourescent lights and dusty shelves. She will call to you and attempt to lure you in with the promise of dry, dusty heat cooled by southern breezes; but you, so unlike your boisterous siblings, will dig in your heels and bury yourself deeper within tales with boundaries set in ink.

You will watch the seasons play out on your mothers face, placed there by the iron fists of your step father. Pink will turn to red, red to purple, purple to black, black to yellow and blue will hide beneath the surface; a kaleidoscope of colour that will turn your stomachSummer by ~Lacewinged-Beauty

Grating RaspsIt courses and winds like air through veins,
Falls languidly through space, red as wax, drips
From barren branches full with leaves,
From sighs and outstretched fingertips.

It howls in silver song from the moon-top
Grips like ice and as ice does, lets go.

As it's all that nothingness will ever know.

It shudders and shatters in scarlet decay,
Breaks like waves of unblemished sound,

Magic of the TreesWe walked, painting footprints in the dirt,
reminders to recall trails blazed.
We peered up at the sky,
squinting against the sour lemon sun,
flickering down between dream catcher leaves,
and we made wishes come true.
The trees stood tall as giants,
supporting our spines, improving our posture,
for kisses that smelled of woods and tasted of sap.
And woodland creatures sang songs,
songs of love pushed to limits,
whispering careful reminders in our ears.
We tried each one out,
the big and little trees, the fat and skinny ones,
needing to know which one felt best,

Such a barren wasteland embraced

of our last name. i couldn't wait

it's in the forbidden taste of salt on my tongue

In the words cursing the ghost ship of my shape being plundered against my will.
It's spoken by the fish telling me that I have no right to fill my gills with oxygen
